The largest museum collection of matchbox labels consists of 213,183 items and was achieved by Changfeng Trademark Poster Collection Gallery (China) in Shanghai, China, on 20 March 2024.
The collection started since 2008. The gallery was open to the public since 2018, and it used to be a historical building, which was formerly used as a textile mill. It is located along the Suzhou River in Shanghai, which is an important landmark. It was built in 1930s and is now under historic preservation, owned by a local commercial real estate company.
According to the gallery, it has over 30 million items covering 300,000 genres of collection, including old trademarks, film posters, matchbox labels and labels of cigarettes and wines. Most exhibitions have over one hundred years of history and are all authentic.
