The youngest female to ski unsupported to the Geographic North Pole is Amelia Darley (née Russell, UK, b. 29 August 1982), who was 27 years 239 days old when she reached the pole on 25 April 2010, having covered 780 km (484.67 mi; 421.17 nautical m) after departing from Cape Discovery on Ellesmere Island, Nunavut, Canada, in a two-person expedition with her partner (later husband), Dan Darley, on 26 February 2010.


The expedition was unsupported in that all supplies were carried by the team members, with no food, medical or emergency assistance from outside.
