German director Uwe Boll has directed the most movies based on videogame franchises. His work includes two trilogies based on BloodRayne (Terminal Reality, 2002) and Dungeon Siege (Gas Powered Games, 2002). To date he has directed 10 films based (in many cases loosely) on a videogame: House of the Dead (2003), Alone in the Dark (2005), BloodRayne (2005), In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale (2007), Postal (2007), BloodRayne: Deliverance (2007), Far Cry (2008), BloodRayne: The Third Reich (2011), In the Name of the King 2: Two Worlds (2011) and In the Name of the King 3: The Last Mission (2014) – although "Dungeon Siege" was dropped from the title of the sequels following the poor reception of the 2007 film. He also produced and acted in Apocalypse Z, a 2013 film based on Zombie Massacre (Alpha Software, 1998).
