An exploit in Star Wars Arcade allows skilled gamers to play the game indefinitely on a single credit. Because of this, the high-score requirements were tweaked during the Twin Galaxies International Scoreboard/Guinness Book Masters Tournament so that players could not take advantage of this trick. Under those new "tournament" rules, David Palmer set the record for the highest score, with 31,660,614 points on 4 August 2004.
