The tallest human stack underwater measures 22.3 metres (73.16 feet) and was achieved by Andaman and Nicobar Administration (India) at Swarajdweep, in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India on 3 May 2026.
The record was attempted by Andaman and Nicobar Administration in a bid to promote Andaman and Nicobar Islands as a premier global diving destination. The main idea behind this record attempt was to place Andaman and Nicobar Islands on the global tourism map as an adventure tourism destination with scenic white-sand beaches, crystal clear waters, and a host of water sports and activities to immerse or rather submerge oneself in.
Admiral D.K. Joshi PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM VSM (Retd.), Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Vice Chairman of the Islands Development Agency not only graced the occasion but also actively participated in the record attempt. His involvement underscores the Administration’s commitment to promoting sustainable tourism and positioning the islands prominently on the global tourism map.
