The most expensive videogame console sold at an online auction is the Nintendo PlayStation Super NES CD-ROM Prototype produced by both Sony and Nintendo in 1992, which sold for $360,000 (£275,807; €318,937) at Heritage Auctions, on 8 March 2020.
It is said to be the last of 200 prototypes created through a failed joint-venture between Sony and Nintendo.
