The longest distance ice swim ratified by the International Ice Swimming Association for a male is 6.025 km (3.74 mi), swam by Krzysztof Gajewski (Poland) in a lake at Kopalnia Wroclaw near Paniowice in Trzebnica County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, Poland, on 13 December 2025.
Gajewski completed the swim in 1 hour 52 minutes 52 seconds and the average water temperature was 4.18°C (39.5°F).
This surpassed his own record, set on 19 April 2023, by just 25 m (82 ft).
As per IISA regulations, for an ice swim to be valid, the water must be sub 5°C (41°F) and the swimmer is only permitted to wear a standard swimming costume, cap and goggles.
