Located at a maximum height of 280 m (918 ft) above ground, the Skyslide on the side of the US Bank Tower in Los Angeles, California, USA, is the highest slide in the world. Constructed in 2016 from 32-mm-thick (1.25-in) glass, the 14-m-long (45-ft 11-in) slide curves down from the 70th to the 69th floor of the skyscraper and is designed as a tourist attraction.
The Skyslide is a c.1.2-m-wide (4-ft) fully enclosed glass tube that affords stunning views of downtown Los Angeles to those fearless enough to take the $33 (£24.60) trip from the top to bottom. The glass can support the weight of "two blue whales... and it wouldn't budge," according to John Gamboa, a vice president with OUE Skyspace, in an interview with CNN.
