The largest fruit mazamorra weighs 751.30 kg (1,656.33 lb) and was achieved by Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola S.A. and Gobierno Regional de Loreto (Peru), at Plaza de Armas, in Iquitos, Peru, on 30 August 2018.

This giant fruit mazamorra was made with 220 kg of aguaje pulp (fruit); 826.25 litres of water; 149.38 kg of sugar and other ingredients such as cinnamon, star anise and cornstarch.

Aguaje is moriche palm fruit, which is used to make juice, jam, ice cream, desserts and snacks. The fruit, which grows from December to June, is a chestnut colour and is covered with shiny scales.
