On 16 June 2010 the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers appointed seven experts from around the world who are able to reboot the World Wide Web in the event of a major catastrophe. Each of the seven was given a "key" resembling a credit card, which contains a fragment of the required security code. If the World Wide Web were knocked offline these people would have to travel to a secure location in the USA to combine their codes, allowing the World Wide Web to be restarted securely. The individuals, known as Trusted Community Representatives, are located in Trinidad and Tobago, UK, USA, China, Burkina Faso, Czech Republic and Canada.
