Hi, I'm Orion and I hold the world record for the longest ice skating teapot
0:05
The ice skating teapot is one of the standard ice skating moves. It's kind of fun to do
0:10
and it's good practice for the sit spin which is doing that move while spinning
0:15
You have to hold the position for the entire duration and you have to keep moving for the
0:20
entire duration. And also the ice rink surface has to be flat such as a partial ice rink or so like
0:28
So you have to get a lot of speed going into it otherwise you'll stop moving. First you'll have
0:33
speed wobble as you go into it and the second thing I think this is the main hard part is that
0:39
because you're on a commercial ice facility you don't have a straight shot so you're going to
0:45
hit the end eventually and you have to turn. And the physics of turning while you're in the
0:50
slotted position is actually kind of interesting because what you have to do is if you want to
0:55
bank left you first have to twist your skate a little bit to the right and that will cause you
1:00
to bank a little bit to the left and then you follow the bank by turning your foot along with the ocean
1:15
Guinness is the legit record book so that part is kind of cool. I think for anyone who watches it
1:22
if they see someone wearing a helmet I think that's kind of nice to reduce the stigma
1:25
of wearing a helmet while they're skating
